How Community Solar Works

Clearway builds and operates solar farms in . Some solar farms are active, and others are in development and construction phases. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Subscribers support 100% local, renewable energy without green power premiums or Retail Electric gimmicks. There is no rooftop installation, no enrollment fees, and there are never any maintenance fees.

In return for your subscription and support of locally produced renewable energy, you receive bill credits directly on your utility bill that reduce your electricity charges.
Clearway’s Customer Agreement includes convenient cancellation terms. Plus, customers who enroll through December 31, 2020 may cancel their contract any time without a fee. See details
The Community Solar Process & Savings Guarantee

Clearway Community Solar farms produce renewable solar electricity that goes to your local power grid. Polluted energy sources are replaced with clean ones.

Then, you receive solar bill credits automatically applied to your utility bill, reducing your costs. Because it pays to support renewable power.

You pay Clearway for the solar bill credits and receive a GUARANTEED discount every month.* Replace dirty power on the grid with clean power and pay less for the cost of the solar bill credits.
This means for every $1.00 you receive in solar bill credits that reduce your electric costs, you only pay Clearway .

Next, please review and sign your Clearway Customer Agreement. The agreement will be generated on the following page (this may take up to two minutes) and can be completed electronically. You may also download and print the full Customer Agreement. Once complete, simply hit “FINISH.”
Clearway will confirm your enrollment and email your Customer Agreement to you within 3 – 5 business days.
Your account will have a $0 cancellation fee. The $200 cancellation fee will be waived for your account. You will receive an email confirmation of the cancellation waiver once your Customer Agreement is generated, and an additional email confirmation once your Customer Agreement is signed.

What’s in the Clearway Customer Agreement?
Here are the key facts you should know.
Clearway Promises
Clearway guarantees you will save 7% on the value of the Solar Bill Credits generated by your subscription.
Clearway guarantees your discount rate of 7% is locked in for the 20-year term of this Agreement.
Clearway guarantees that you may cancel this Agreement within three (3) business days of the date on which you sign it at no cost. If you wish to cancel this Agreement after three (3) business days, you may do so anytime by providing at least sixty (60) calendar days’ notice and pay a $0 – $200 cancellation fee (“Cancellation Fee”), subject to Section 4.
Clearway guarantees your cancellation fee has been waived for the full duration of your Clearway contract as part of this special limited-time promotion.*
Customer Acknowledgments
Your Monthly Payments will vary because you will only pay for your share of what the Community Solar Farm produces.
You will receive two bills: your regular local utility bill and the Clearway bill. The Solar Bill Credits will appear directly on your utility bill reducing the overall amount owed to your Electric Utility and you will receive a separate bill from Clearway Community Solar reflecting the charge for those Solar Bill Credits.
If you move and continue to be a customer within the Service Territory, subject to Section 4, you will provide us with your new electric utility account number and this Agreement will remain in effect pending utility approval.
Your Community Solar System Allocation Amount will be established based on your historical annual usage but may be adjusted during the term of your Agreement based on your electricity usage after we notify you of the change in writing.
The cancellation fee will be waived for the full duration of your Clearway contract as part of this special promotion. The cancellation waiver will be automatically applied to your account, and you will receive an email confirmation. This offer is only available for a limited time. There are a few final steps to complete your enrollment. We are required to collect a recent utility bill to verify your utility account and home energy consumption.
This is a requirement with your utility to facilitate your solar bill credits, and it also helps Clearway ensure you are sized to the appropriate portion of the Community Solar farm.

Account Verification
Clearway will review the documents you’ve provided, ensure your household meets the program qualifications, and work with your utility to confirm your account.* This may take up to 7 business days. If any further information or contract adjustments are needed, Clearway will contact you using the phone number and email provided.
Your Customer Agreement
Once your documents are approved, Clearway will email you a fully executed copy of your Customer Agreement to confirm your enrollment.
New Customer Welcome!
You will also receive a new customer Welcome Kit mailed to your home that includes your Clearway account number and more helpful information. Plus, Clearway will keep in touch over email and keep you informed as to when your assigned Community Solar farm will be placed in service.
